The aluminum heelcup actually stays put after a full day of hard carving, which was my main gripe with my old setup. Two straps and the X-Base 3 keep my boot locked in without any slop.

Swapped these onto my splitboard for a mountaineering trip and the two-strap design kept my boots locked in on some sketchy traverses. The X-Base 3 baseplate feels noticeably stiffer underfoot than my old setup, which made edging way more confident.

Took these out on a rocky ridge day and the X-Base 3 baseplate felt solid underfoot the whole time. Only gripe is the two-strap setup takes a bit of fiddling to dial in, but once it's set they don't budge.
